Samsung launches its range of Galaxy Book laptops

Samsung has set out to return to the mobile computing market with a good roster of ultralight laptops to choose from, following its decision a few years ago to abandon sales in certain markets such as Europe. 

Until now, the South Korean company maintained in Spain the sale of a single laptop, the Chromebook 4 , highly oriented to the education sector. With the arrival of the new Galaxy Book, all of them based on Windows 10, the offer expands significantly.  



Galaxy Book in the entry range

Of the four models presented, the Galaxy Book is the entry-level in terms of performance and price. That does not prevent it from being able to count on its configuration with 11th generation Intel Core processors, integrated Iris X graphics, as well as audio with Dolby Atmos speakers. 

 

This input model offers a 15-inch screen and guarantees wide connectivity with 2 USB C ports, another 2 USB A 3.2, HDMI output, microSD card reader, in addition to the mini-jack headphone connector. 

It can be purchased with Mystic Silver or Mystic Blue finishes. The commercialization of the Galaxy Book is scheduled worldwide for next May with prices starting at $ 549 depending on the processor, RAM and storage chosen. 

Galaxy Book Pro and Book Pro 360 compatible with Intel Evo

In a much lighter format and careful in design aspects, the new Galaxy Book Pro and Book Pro 360 arrive, whose main difference between the two is that the hinge of the Pro 360 model can rotate on itself to become a 2-in-1 device. to use it as a tablet.

Both models come with two screen formats, both 13.3 and 15.6 inches thinking about guaranteeing mobility, with AMOLED panels in the case of the Book Pro, and Super AMOLED in the case of the Book Pro 360.

 

Both Pro models meet Intel Evo platform certification, so we can get an idea of ​​how light they are. The Book Pro weighs 870 grams despite having a large 15.6-inch screen. 

For its part, the Galaxy Book 360 is only 11.5 mm thick and is accompanied by the S Pen digital pen to facilitate annotations naturally. There is the possibility in both cases of acquiring the modality with LTE or 5G connectivity. 

Samsung also highlights that the screens of both comply with the VESA DisplayHDR 500 certification, one of the most demanding with the display of black levels and luminance transition from black to white. 


As many will know, this technology improves the dynamic range of colors by displaying them more vibrant and with better contrasts. The brightness is also adjusted to provide a clearer display in certain game title situations. 

Like the previous Galaxy Book range, the Pro versions also integrate 11 generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, as well as integrated Iris X graphics. In connectivity, they also guarantee USB C ports with Thunderbolt 4, microSD card reader and headphone jack. 

Regarding the final price and availability, it should be noted that the Galaxy Book Pro 360 will be available in Mystic Navy, Mystic Silver and Mystic Bronze colors. For its part, the Galaxy Book Pro will be available in Mystic Blue, Mystic Silver and Mystic Pink Gold. 

Prices vary depending on the size of your screens, but the cheapest configuration starts at $ 999 in the case of the Galaxy Book Pro , and $ 1,199 in the case of the Galaxy Book Pro 360 model with the S Pen stylus. 

Galaxy Book Odyssey for gaming environments

The fourth laptop presented by Samsung is aimed at meeting the demand for laptops with a gaming profile for gaming enthusiasts. This makes the chassis thicker, in order to ensure better internal cooling. 

Inside, it has latest generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, accompanied this time by advanced Geforce RTX 3050Ti Max-Q graphics, 8, 16 or 32 GB RAM, and NVMe SSD storage of up to 1 TB. 

The Book Odyssey screen is 15.6-inch TFT LCD with FullHD resolution. Its 83 Wh battery is sold together with a 135 W power adapter. 

 

If this equipment stands out, it is because of its performance potential, in addition to including a complete set of connectors and ports, with Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, 2 USB C ports, 2 USB A 3.2 ports, microSD card reader and USB connector. headphones. 

All the mentioned devices, announced by Samsung, come with the possibility of choosing between the Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro operating system version. They also have the 'Link to Windows' app as standard to synchronize Android phones with Windows.
