How to get a cheap Ryzen 5000 series CPU

The manufacturer AMD announced the new series of processors Ryzen 5000, the first to have the new Zen 3 architecture inside. They come with great news, and are called to compete with the Intel Core in search of being the fastest CPUs on the market. techwadia

Currently, there are four models to choose from: the considered flagship Ryzen 9 5950X, the Ryzen 9 5900X, the Ryzen 7 5800X, and the Ryzen 5 5600X. They are somewhat more expensive than last year's Ryzen 3000 series, but with increased performance. 

Now, this new family faces a big problem today, which is none other than availability. With the pandemic situation we are experiencing, manufacturing does not seem to be at the desired pace, coupled with freight transport problems.

In this way, the problem that Nvidia and AMD are having in the availability of the latest graphics cards presented, is also joined by the chips and other components that result in a higher price when acquiring new components by the consumer final.  


How much do Ryzen 5000 series chips cost?

We have already seen that the Ryzen 5000 series of desktop chips is made up of four different models. This is how the range is in terms of recommended prices: 

  • Ryzen 9 5950X - € 899
  • Ryzen 9 5900X - € 699
  • Ryzen 7 5800X - € 475
  • Ryzen 7 5600X - € 349

In this way, the price margin can range between € 349 for the most basic model of the 5000 series with Ryzen 7, and € 899 for the higher one that corresponds to the Ryzen 9 5950X. 

In any case, with each new generation of Zen-based Ryzen chips, AMD has managed to corner Intel in terms of performance and the price-per-watt factor. Where Intel reigned in threading and gaming performance, now AMD has caught up or even surpassed. 

Unlike Intel, which makes its own CPUs from a single piece of silicon, AMDS assembles Ryzen from multiple layers, giving it much more flexibility in performance and manufacturability. 

In the case of Zen 3, the current one that is part of the Ryzen 5000 series chips, it uses the same IO input / output matrix that contains the PCIe 4.0 buses and the memory controller used with Zen 2. 

This has allowed AMD to guarantee that its new chips can work on motherboards with existing sockets from previous generations, without altering all the cost for the end consumer to do without recently acquired hardware.
